New York Fashion Week #SS25

#NYFW has come to an end, and I wasn't able to attend this year once again due to my busy schedule. I‘m hoping that I will be in attendance during Fall shows in February of 2025 if it's the Lord's will. In the meantime, we brought fashion week to these Memphis streets like we always do. Keep reading down below to see this year's looks and a few throwbacks from last year.

Look 1

Last year, I put together 4 looks, while the previous year I put together 2 looks. I decided to do 3 looks this year. I know techinically this is the time for Spring shows but Fall weather is about to be in full swing, so it was only right to do #Fall inspired looks.

Often times, people ask me how I find inspiration for my looks. I usually pick a style or one statement piece and create an entire look based off of that style or piece. I also use Pinterest for inspiration if I’m at a hard spot creatively. For this look, I already had this top with statement sleeves in my closet from Shop AKIRA that I had only worn once last year for a hosting event. I also had this denim dress from FashionNova that I had only worm once to a gala earlier this year. I knew together they would be a match made in heaven. I accessorized with sunglasses, cross earrings, and snake boots

Outfit Details:

Sunglasses: Opry Mills Mall Nashville

Earrings: Jun Lee Trading

Top: Shop AKIRA

Denim Dress: FashionNova

Boots: Simmi Shoes

Look 2

You can never go wrong with a blazer. My closet is filled with so many different types of blazers. And let's be real, a blazer look never goes out of style.

For this look, the entire outfit was styled around the blazer. However, the blazer alone did not scream fashion week, so I had to figure out a way to make a statement with this piece. I decided to add brooches to the blazer along with a tie. The brooches added contrast and texture, so they were a perfect addition! Bows and lace have been trending a lot lately, so I decided to make the look a little more softer by adding a lace pair of stockings, lace gloves with bows, and lace kitten heels. I never wear an outfit without shades, but this look felt better without shades. Don't get used to seeing a look without shades with me though because if you've been following me then you know I love my shades. :)

Look 3

The more the leopard the better, right? For this look, I was inspired by a look I found on Pinterest.

I feel like animal print is making a comeback, but honestly did it ever go out of style? The statement piece for this look was the leopard jumper with gloves and footsies attached. I had a friend of mine who is a local designer create a satin overlay skirt for me in which I put over a tulle skirt from Shop AKIRA. The drama of the satin overlay skirt in combo with the tulle skirt and the leopard jumper were the staple pieces that stole the show for this look. There are a lot of layers to this look. See full outfit details below.
